Mexican Navy Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing Following Engine Failure

A Mexican Navy helicopter performed an emergency landing in Mazatlán on May 4 shortly after takeoff due to a loss of engine power. Officials reported that the incident was caused by a technical malfunction.

The MI-17 aircraft, which took off from the Fourth Naval Region base in Sinaloa, lost main engine power while gaining altitude. Following the execution of emergency procedures by the crew, the helicopter made a controlled but hard landing near the base.
